The Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees approved an employee compensation plan for the 2023-24 school year at the regular Board meeting on June 19. This plan approved an increase of 3.5% raise which is a $2,000 step increase for teachers, librarians and nurses. All other salary positions will see a 2% increase at midpoint and hourly staff members will receive a $1 increase per hour with a minimum starting salary of $16 per hour. In addition, LHISD will continue to provide affordable healthcare options which include two no-cost health plans for employees and an array of benefits for our staff and their families.

“In Liberty Hill our teachers and staff are a top priority when considering the budget,” said Board of Trustees President Megan Parsons. “As a Board, we are facing a budget deficit greater than I have ever been faced with. Although we are not alone in this, as other districts in Texas are dealing with similar budget issues, the fiscal responsibility of our district is very important to the Board. Therefore, it has been a very stressful budget year.” 

Due to continued growth of our community and the cost of inflation, LHISD recognizes that salary and benefits must be increased to a comparable rate in our area to support our teachers and staff. Our Human Resources and Finance departments teamed up to find the best possible solution to maintain a competitive market, ensuring our students continue to receive the high-quality education LHISD prides itself in providing while remaining diligent in spending our taxpayers’ dollars wisely.

“I am grateful to our incredible Finance and Human Resources Departments for their hard work which has allowed us to give the absolute best we can for our teachers and staff,” Mrs. Parsons continued. “The Board is very proud to have given significant pay increases over the last two years as well as offer competitive stipends in our SPED department this year.”
