Community Attendance Boundary Forum

In January, Liberty Hill ISD shared the recommended attendance boundary updates as part of planning for future campus openings beginning in the 2026–27 school year.

Interim Superintendent Travis Motal prepared a video presentation outlining the proposed boundaries, demographic trends, and future enrollment projections to support community understanding ahead of the town hall meetings.

The district is currently in the community feedback phase. No final decisions have been made. So far, feedback has been collected through the video presentation, two in-person town halls, and the Attendance Boundary Advisory Committee. All input will be reviewed before a final recommendation is presented to the Board of Trustees on February 16.

Those who were unable to attend a town hall are encouraged to review the video presentation and submit feedback using the online survey linked here.

Attendance Boundary FAQs

  • Families who were unable to attend a town hall meeting are encouraged to watch the Attendance Boundary Update video and submit feedback through the online survey here

All feedback submitted through the survey is reviewed alongside input shared during town halls and advisory committee meetings. Attendance at a meeting is not required for feedback to be considered.

  • Community feedback is a crucial component of the attendance boundary review process. Feedback collected through town halls, surveys, and committee discussions is reviewed by district leadership and the Attendance Boundary Committee.

This input helps inform the final recommendation that is presented to the Board of Trustees. While not all feedback will result in changes, all feedback is reviewed and considered.

  • No. The town halls are part of the feedback phase of the process.

No final decisions are made at these meetings. After the feedback phase concludes, district leadership will review all input and present a final recommendation to the Board of Trustees for consideration at a future board meeting.

  • Attendance boundaries are reviewed to balance enrollment, plan for new campuses, and support long-term growth across the district. The goal is to reduce overcrowding, avoid campus closures due to new enrollment, and provide sustainable attendance zones as Liberty Hill ISD continues to grow.

  • Student stability is an important consideration in the attendance boundary process. District staff evaluate enrollment projections, grade configurations, and long-term growth patterns to minimize unnecessary transitions when possible, while still ensuring balanced enrollment across campuses.

  • Elementary attendance zones are typically smaller and more sensitive to residential growth.

As new neighborhoods develop and new elementary campuses open, boundary adjustments may be necessary to ensure equitable enrollment and avoid capacity issues. Secondary boundaries are often broader and therefore adjusted less frequently.

  • Students receiving special education services are assigned based on individual needs and program availability.

Attendance boundaries do not determine the specific services or supports a student receives. The district works to ensure continuity of services and appropriate placements regardless of boundary adjustments.

The district plans to continue the community placements for RISE and AIMES at the current campuses.  The need for additional community locations will continue to be monitored and addressed to meet the needs of our students.

  • Special program placements are reviewed individually and are not solely determined by attendance boundaries. The district considers program needs, student services, and continuity when making placement decisions for students receiving specialized support.

  • Yes. Traffic patterns, campus access, and surrounding infrastructure are reviewed as part of the planning process.

The district also works with local and county partners when appropriate to address traffic and safety considerations related to growth and school access.

  • Liberty Hill ISD regularly coordinates with local and county entities regarding traffic and infrastructure concerns. While the district does not control roadways or traffic signals, feedback related to traffic and safety is shared with appropriate partners when applicable.

  • Attendance boundaries are reviewed periodically as part of long-range planning. While the district works to create sustainable boundaries, future growth, new campuses, or enrollment changes may require additional reviews over time.
