LIBERTY HILL, TEXAS - Liberty Hill ISD is thrilled to announce the hiring of Rebecca Owen as Director of Talent Acquisition and Recruitment following Monday night’s board meeting on April 17, 2023.

Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. With over 20 years of experience working in public education, she has  worked in a variety of roles within the education system, including serving as both a teacher and campus administrator in Leander ISD and most recently as the Director of Talent Acquisition and Secondary Staffing in Round Rock ISD. This extensive experience has given her a well-rounded understanding of the education system and the recruitment needs of our district.

This is a new position for Liberty Hill ISD. As the Director of Talent Acquisition and Recruitment, Rebecca will be responsible for leading the recruitment team, developing and implementing recruitment and retention strategies, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

“I am thrilled to join the team at Liberty Hill ISD, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships with all stakeholders,” said Owen. “As a former classroom teacher and campus administrator, I understand the needs of a school district and the importance of building strong teams to support student success. I also appreciate the value of fostering a supportive community within the district. Having grown up in a small town, I know firsthand how a strong sense of community can positively impact student outcomes. I am eager to contribute to Liberty Hill ISD's continued success and strengthen the bonds between the district and its community."

Rebecca and her husband are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Randy retired from the Travis County Sheriff's Department, but stays busy with the landscaping business that he has owned for the past 30 years. Their children graduated from Leander ISD and live in the area. When not recruiting amazing talent for our district, Rebecca loves spending time with her family and puppy, rooting for UT at their football games, attending church, and enjoying the view of the lake from her back porch.
