18 LHISD Students Earn Certified Nurse Aide Certification After Completing Nursing Home Clinicals
LIBERTY HILL, TX - Liberty Hill Independent School District (LHISD) is proud to announce that 18 of its Career and Technical Education Program's Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) students have passed the Texas Nurse Aide Exam and earned their CNA certification. These students completed 40 hours of nursing home clinicals as part of their Practicum in Health Science course.
LHISD is known for its innovative Career and Technical Education Program, which offers students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in various fields. One such program is the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program, which has recently seen a great success.
Under the guidance of Kalley Klinksiek, RRT, the LHISD Health Science Teacher, these students trained in the Health Science lab and received clinical rotations with contracted nurse Jalisa McKay at Bertram Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. The students showed exceptional dedication, grace, and compassion throughout the program, indicating their genuine interest in the medical field. Students expressed their desire to continue on to become nurses, while some students expressed interest in therapy as well as becoming physicians.
The students' success in this program is an excellent achievement and will undoubtedly pave the way for a bright future in healthcare for all of them. Klinksiek has expressed her pride in her students, saying, "I know all of them will be successful, and I look forward to seeing what they become in the future. I hope they all come back to visit me as they will be missed dearly."
