Posted Date: 8/15/25 (4:00 PM)

Liberty Hill Independent School District has earned a B, “Recognized,” rating according to the 2025 Texas Education Agency (TEA) Accountability System. This achievement places LHISD among the highest-rated districts in the Central Texas area. The district’s overall score increased by two points from the previous year, reflecting measurable academic growth across grade levels. Further, the district outperformed the region in 52 of 60 STAAR/EOC tested subjects and exceeded state averages in 57 of 60 tested subjects, demonstrating consistent academic excellence across the district. The Texas Education Agency rates schools from A (Exemplary) to F (Failing) which provides a comprehensive picture of student learning, progress over time, and success in meeting performance targets for all student groups. The 2024 state accountability also shows Liberty Hill ISD earning a district rating of a B. There was a delay in releasing this data due to court litigation that was settled over the summer.

This past school year was marked by achievements beyond STAAR scores and TEA ratings. Liberty Hill High School ranked in the Top 10 in Texas among 5A schools for the UIL Lone Star Cup, honoring overall excellence in academics, athletics, and fine arts. LHHS also placed in the Top 5 statewide for the Austin American-Statesman Breazeale Cup, highlighting the strength of the school’s athletic program. Legacy Ranch High School (LRHS) celebrated UIL state recognition for both a freshman golfer and a freshman wrestler, remarkable achievements for first-year competitors. In addition, the district was recognized by The NAMM Foundation as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in 2025, underscoring its commitment to exceptional fine arts programs.

“Raising scores across the board while maintaining our success in extracurricular and fine arts programs shows the strength of our students, teachers, and community,” said LHISD Interim Superintendent Travis Motal. “Our vision is to build champions in academics, character and community, and these results prove we are on the right track.”
