LIBERTY HILL, Texas – The Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the hiring of Christina Gamez as the Bill Burden Elementary School principal during the June 3, 2024 Board meeting.

Graduating from Texas A&M in May 2012, Christina has spent her career in service to students and families of Liberty Hill ISD. In 2012, she began at Bill Burden Elementary School as a physical education (PE) teacher for second- through fourth-grade classes. In 2017, she moved to Rancho Sienna Elementary to help open the new campus for PreK- through fourth-grade. She continued her work as a PE teacher, led the specials team, and supervised paraprofessionals.

Her career continued to blossom in 2020 when she took on the role of assistant principal intern at Santa Rita Elementary School. During this time as an aspiring assistant principal, she continued to work as a PE teacher, while also taking on the role of campus tier two behavior coordinator. After earning her Master in Educational Administration in 2021, she was accepted to lead Bill Burden Elementary School as an assistant principal. Now, she is thrilled to take on this new adventure as the campus principal.

“I am so excited to continue to serve and lead the Bill Burden community,” said Gamez. “This school and our district hold such a special place in my heart. I’m excited to partner with families and welcome our students and staff to campus in August as their new principal!”

Growing up in Cedar Park, Christina is a native to the Central Texas area. She and her family not only work and go to school in Liberty Hill ISD, they are proud community members as well! She feels fortunate that a friend of hers highly recommended LHISD to her years ago, praising it as an exceptional school district to work in. “Since then, I've discovered firsthand the truth of those words,” said Gamez. “The community within LHISD has been a significant factor in my decision to remain here. It's not just a place to work, but a place where I envision my children growing up and thriving. The strong sense of community and commitment to excellence make LHISD not just a workplace, but a home.”

Christina relishes her time as a wife to her wonderful husband, Nick, and mother to her two sweet boys, Samuel and Levi. Samuel will start second grade this year and little Levi will start his journey into PreK. Nick is a youth and young adults pastor at their church in North Austin. When not at work, Christina loves spending time with family and friends, playing with her goldendoodle, Lucy, going on walks, and cheering on the Texas A&M Aggies!
